Vintage Joe Wilson

Long before the Op Ed piece in the New York Times. Before made public the details of his fact-finding trip to Niger and before the President ordered the first strikes that began the invasion of Iraq, Ambassador Wilson appeared on NOW with Bill Moyers. This was the first time I had ever seen or heard of Wilson, and I was very impressed. Ostensibly, the reason why Moyers brought Wilson onto his show was to provide his viewers a inside perspective on the impending invasion of Iraq vis-a-vis the first Gulf War under George HW Bush.

Wilson was Ambassador to Iraq during the first Bush administration and was one of the last people to speak with Saddam Hussein prior to Operation Desert Storm.

On several occasions during this interview, Wilson makes it clear that he does not oppose military with Iraq and that he supported fully the ousting of Saddam Hussein from Kuwait in the first Gulf War.

Interesting stuff.

You will need iTunes or QuickTime to listen to this. I attempted to capture the video as well, but the picture kept rolling.

You can download it here . . .
